A 30’s Christmas

Hello!  It’s Kit.  Today we are going to talk about what Christmas was like in the thirties.

First, lets talk about the tree!

We had a pretty small, but real tree.  Since we didn’t have enough money to buy new ones, we used old ornaments.

For Christmas, I would have asked for smaller things such as a Teddy Bear.

Or perhaps a new hat.

During the Great Depression, our Christmas was simple, but still enjoyable.  In our stockings, we would get lots of nuts and oranges that we savored in the holiday season.  The Holidays are a time of Joy no matter how you celebrate, f you remember the reason for the season.
